ABOUT THIS POSITION The Municipal Court provides equal access to justice, professional and impartial treatment, and the fair and time resolution of all court matters. Municipal Court performs their responsibilities in a manner that serves to maintain the public's trust and confidence in the Court as an institution and to enhance the public's respect for the rule of law, while preserving and protecting individual rights guaranteed under the constitution.
Under direction of a Court Administrator and Court Security Systems Manager, this position supervises and coordinates staff and activities in the support or operational sections. The incumbent participates in the hiring process and implements ongoing staff development and training; coordinates and assigns tasks and projects; monitors employee performance and writes performances appraisals; recommends and implements approved disciplinary actions; interacts with judges, staff, public, and external agencies; exercises considerable discretion and independent judgment in carrying out court operations; advises division administrators on progress achieved and problems encountered; develops new or revises existing policies and procedures; and undertakes special projects as assigned or required.
Duties include:
- Statistical reports.
- Budget monitoring.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Training staff in the use of security screening tools.
- Handling the day-to-day scheduling of employee work periods, breaks and coverage of work stations.
Administrative duties include:
- Incident Report writing.
- Processing background checks.
- Making identification badges.
- Completing access requests.
- Running access reports.
- Responding to duress alarms and medical emergencies.
- Performing standby duties.
- Completing daily reports.
- Extensive use of Microsoft Office products Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Entering orders, data and invoices in the procurement system.
Work involves assessing difficult situations and exercising tact and judgment in bringing about their resolution. Court Security. Incumbents are expected to work independently and efficiently, ensuring that all transactions meet department guidelines and legal requirements. Court Security Supervisors provide direct supervision over Court Security Officers and may perform the major tasks of subordinate staff on a temporary basis during heavy workload demands.
SALARY Pay Range: $33.41 - 44.77 per hour.
Hiring Range: $33.41 - $38.68 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Three years progressively responsible experience in public safety, security, or military police work.
- One year supervisory experience.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

- This position is subject to Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background standards. Candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment must be fingerprinted and will have their fingerprints used to check the Criminal History Records of the State of Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Any records returned will be reviewed to determine the candidates suitability for the job.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- ASIS certification as a CPP (Certified Protection Professional) and or PSP (Physical Security Professional).
- Experience in:
- Supervising staff including training, coaching, handling personnel issues, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Scheduling the work of others including coverage for break and lunches.
- Administrative/clerical tasks.
- Procurement systems.
- Milestone CCTV or related software programs.
- Using Microsoft Office system such as, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Using Microsoft Excel.
- A court or professional office environment.
- Working as a security guard, corrections officer, police officer, military police officer or supervisor in a secure environment.
- Access Control Auditing.
