Description: ocation: The Groton Inn (128 Main St, Groton, MA) Hours: Year-round, 20-30 hours per week, 8am - 5pm, to include weekends. Pay Rate: Hourly, $16.00-$18.00.
Benefits: Fitness center and meals provided. Experience: Previous experience is preferred. JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the Executive Housekeeper, ensures Hotel linen is washed, dried, folded and ironed as scheduled. The list of duties and responsibilities below is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Refers guest problems or complaints to supervisor.
•Picks up and sorts all soiled linen and loads into appropriate carts or machines.
•Pre-treats laundry for stains.
•Loads and unloads washers and dryers, operates industrial machines as instructed
•Folds towels by hand, presses and fold table linens, folds sheets, hand folds pillow cases, blankets, bed pads, etc.
•Sorts and separates damaged or stained linen, i.e., to be repaired or used as rags.
•Observes safety rules and maintains a safe environment.
•Cleans lint traps from dryers daily; checks and cleans drains as necessary.
•Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
•Performs other related duties as required or directed.

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS
•Knowledge of or trainable on occupational hazards and applicable safety practices.
•Knowledge of trainable on laundry cleaning equipment.
•Knowledge of trainable on laundry chemicals.
•Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing.
•Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers and customers at all levels.
•Ability to safely use cleaning products and safely operate cleaning equipment.
•Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction.
•Ability to learn the methods of cleaning and caring for buildings, linens and equipment.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in the Hotel's laundry area with exposure to heat, fumes, water and steam. Holiday and/or weekend work are required. Extended hours and irregular shifts are required.

•Must be 18 years of age.

ABILITIES REQUIRED:
•Frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, lifting, manual dexterity and repetitive motions. May require the ability to work on uneven outdoor surfaces.
•Occasional stair climbing.
•Working in extreme temperatures conditions.
•Schedule varies according to operational needs; may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
•Frequent handwashing
•Hazards include but are not limited to back and muscle injuries from bending/lifting, exposure to chemicals, slips, and tripping.
