Position Description
Provides nursing service to patients who are scheduled for surgery and during surgery in a Medical/Surgical Infirmary of a Correctional Facility hospital.
Major/Essential Functions
- Communicates patient data using EMR to support decision-making to improve patient care.
- Assists with or performs exams and procedures and documents intervention in EMR.
- Prepares and operates necessary equipment and instruments for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Oversee sterilization process of instruments.
- Orders Supplies.
- Provides nursing care to the patient in the recovery room setting.
- Demonstrates PACU Code blue proceduresAbout Managed Care:

- State PensionIn addition to the base position compensation, we offer shift differential pay for night and weekend shifts:
Registered Nurse Shift Differential: - Day Shift Employees: Earn an extra $4.00 per hour for shifts worked on Saturday and Sunday.
- Night Shift Employees:
- Earn an extra $4.00 per hour for shifts worked Monday through Friday.
- Earn an extra $8.00 per hour for shifts worked on Saturday and Sunday.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from an approved accredited school of nursing.
- License/Certification: Current license as a Registered Nurse as approved by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or have the ability to transfer RN license to Texas.
- Experience: At least two years of specific operating room experience.
