- Develops and presents recommendations for resources (e.g., human resources, funding, etc.) needed to accomplish functions.
- Evaluates the effectiveness/efficiency of operation led in terms of mission accomplishment; quality and quantity of standards met; procedural, policy, and regulatory compliance; and technical competence.
- Determines and directs contract activities as they relate to scope of work and level of effort required to prepare and maintain all equipment publications to support the weapon/armament/chemical system mission.
- Manages, coordinates and accepts or rejects equipment publications (in-house or contractor-prepared) and other contractor deliverables, for assigned area of responsibility to ensure accomplishment of program objectives.
- Monitors all of the weapon/armament/chemical system equipment publications projects for which the contractor is responsible.
- Plans projects, programs or studies of a broad complex nature involving the writing of supply bulletins (SBs), technical bulletins (TBs), technical manuals (TMs), modification work orders (MWOs), etc. for weapon/armament/chemical systems.
- Perform a task analysis to assure that the maintenance instructions can be used by the target audience.
- Directs the necessary research to comply with request for action in the equipment publications area made by either the contractor or a government agency.
- Reviews and analyzes the progress of publications preparation to determine problem areas, assists publications personnel in correcting deficiencies and to establish priorities which are based on equipment deliveries.
- Maintains continuous liaison and working relationship with publications activities to ensure that the most complete, accurate and adequate publications package is available to support the weapon/armament/chemical system.
- Answers inquiries from the field related to publications, expedites review of all publications, and schedules equipment for verification of publications.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
